Masdar City: a city of the future in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The Masdar City project was launched in 2006. Its name means «Source» in Arabic, as its goal is to inspire the world with its technological innovations.
The city is designed taking into account the principles of energy efficiency, water and resource conservation, as well as minimizing greenhouse gas emissions. Technologies are actively used here to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, use solar energy and other renewable sources.
It is very close to Abu Dhabi airport, but very different from other cities. The project was designed for 50,000 people, but in 2024 only 6,000 live there, mostly students and professionals from other countries.
Masdar City is also famous for its university, which specializes in the study of artificial intelligence . The university occupies a leading position in the field of computer science in the Middle East and North Africa.
Thus, Masdar City serves as one example of a modern city of the future that successfully integrates innovation, sustainable development and care for the environment.
