In the near future, Saudi Arabia may become home to the huge yacht Pangeos, worth $5 billion.
In fact, Pangeos is a wandering floating city with luxury hotels, huge shopping centers, picturesque parks and other important facilities designed to accommodate up to 60 thousand people.
The yacht will be named in honor of Pangea, a supercontinent that existed millions of years ago during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras.
The project was developed by the Italian design studio Lazzarini. The authors of the project noted that this futuristic floating city, made in the shape of a turtle, will be the most grandiose structure in the world ever built, thanks to its length of 550 meters and a width of up to 610 meters, taking into account the “flippers” of the turtle.
The project will take about eight years to complete. It is expected that Pangeos’ engines will reach speeds of up to 5 knots (9.2 km per hour) and receive energy from ocean waves and solar panels installed on the roof.
With this project, Pangeos will grow into the largest floating structure in the world.
